Gratitude

I feel grateful for...

Be grateful for what you have, work hard for what you don't have. Stop complaining. Stop wishing. Start working.

Your attitude about your life and how much gratitude you show on a daily basis can greatly impact your success. In fact, the more grateful you are for what you already have, the faster you can achieve the success that you are looking for. Well, you must be thinking how on earth can a gratitude play an important role in determining your success. Let me give you an example.

Let's say you get up late in the morning for work, and you get upset and blame the alarm for not waking you up. Then you hurried into the kitchen to cook your breakfast but then you burned your toast. You then say, "could my day get any worse?"  If you want to avoid the day that seems to keep getting worse, all you have to do is change your attitude. Instead of getting upset when you woke up late, you can just feel thankful that you have a comfortable bed to sleep in and that you get time to sleep longer, which is good for your health. Instead of complaining about your burnt toast, you can just say "At least I have something to eat. So many people all over the world are starving today."

Do you see the difference in how your attitude can totally change how your mind perceives what happened to you. Your mind is so powerful, that it keeps looking for more and more things that are like the thoughts you already have going through your mind. It basically focuses on what you really give importance to. If you start off your day with a negative mindset, the rest of your day, your mind will keep on focusing on negative things.

Strategies to be grateful:

  • Go on a rampage appreciation - Look around your environment for what you can be grateful for.
  • Say Thank you over and over again
  • Write down what you are grateful for
